Young survivor surprised with superhero makeover from Miss Nebraska USA

22 Apr – From the entrance to the dressing room, you can only see two three girls getting ready. A tall brunette curls her hair, while a blonde applies makeup to a little girl sitting on a stool.

“Put your lips together!” the brunette tells the child. “Perfect!”

The mirror in the room tells a different story, that the girls in that room are anything but ordinary. One is Miss Nebraska USA Sarah Hollins. The other, getting her makeup done, is 8-year old Dylan Tolen. Dylan’s eyes shift back and forth as the brush touches her face, and her emotion seemingly remains unchanged. Dylan, from Grand Island, has Arteriovenous Malformation, a tangle of blood vessels in her brain.
